This page is for the history of Club Penguin Private Servers. Only amazing CPPSes that are very unique and go passed CPPSHQ’s standards are posted here on the CPPS History page.
iCPv0
iCPv0 was just a basic CPPS for only selected users. Not much is known about this CPPS, so we really can’t tell you much.
iCPv1
iCP v1 was just a basic Club Penguin private server, there were no commands, and it was only a for a few selected people. We did not participate in it, so we really can’t tell you much about it other than that. If you have any more information about iCP v1, please tell us in the comments.
iCPv2
iCP v2 was the first very popular Club Penguin private server created by iRath. It was a great start to the Club Penguin private server community. This was also the first private server with commands introduced. The registration and such was available at http://cpps.gotdns.com It gathered many users quickly. However, it did suffer from many flaws.
iCP v2 suffered from many things. Imbalanced commands, for example. You were able to make your penguin larger, so people were covering the screen, making it impossible to move, (a huge annoyance) and it crashed the server too. Another flaw was a poor staff, iCP v2 did have staff members, but nothing was really organized.
iCP v2 shut down in June 2010, because iRath apparently was overwhelmed and felt unappreciated. iRath was in the middle of making iCP v3, the next version of iCP at the time. Many people thought that was the end of iCP, (Club Penguin private servers) but then several people said people began making iCP v3…
iCPv3
iCP v3 first began in late June, by different people than in iCP v2 (Charles/Ross, Mike, and Sam). It first started up as a forum, while they developed it. It was then released in early July, it was an explosion. Many people joined, and it soon had thousands of users. It had a much better balance of commands than iCP v2, and a very well organized staff.
iCPv3 was the private server that caused the original surge in Club Penguin private server popularity. It gained over 100,000 users, and then a supposed Cease & Desist from Disney resulted in the server being shut down.
We feel as if we should not update this for when every private server comes along, but we will update it when something as revolutionary as iCPv3 comes along, and stays online for more than a very long time, and reaches over 100,000 users.
CPPS.me
CPPS.me started in September 2011, and was the first ever CPPS to gain 200,000 users which made it possibly the biggest CPPS ever.
It had working Find Four, an AI bot, and about every feature that all ‘standart’ CPPSes have.
CPPS.me went offline around May 30, 2012 “temporarily”. Sadly, it shut down later on. However, around October 20, 2012, CPPS.me returned!

CPEmulator
CPEmulator (also known as CPPS.me v2) was the second version of CPPS.me, and confirmed the ending of the popular server. It was created by Stanley and John.
At the moment, it hasn’t hit anything like 200,000 users, but it is CPPS.me v2, already has around over 10,000 users, and has a great staff. CPEmulator was also the first CPPS to have AS3 coding involved, which made it more modern with the latest CP UI (user interface) and loader.
Sadly, CPEmulator has closed, and can no longer be played today. However, on the bright side, CPPS.me later returned!
AtlanticPenguin
AtlanticPenguin (or Atlantic Penguin, iPenguin) started around March 7, 2011. Before, it had been known as iPenguin. It was founded by CheekyJay and Andrew. It was one of the first CPPSes with web-client (the first being ClubPenguinV founded by Ray_ToolBear).
Very quickly, it rose to success due to the fact that it was a very creative CPPS. It became the first CPPS with 100,000 genuine users, the first CPPS to stay open for over a year, and the second ever CPPS with 200,000 genuine users. It also became the first CPPS with a creative domain extension use – pengu.in.
